Beneath the Mallorn Tree is a journal blog. Those who follow it are interested in, stalking, or otherwise even mildly entertained by the life of its author.
For those of you who are wondering, a mallorn tree is a fictional plant, a beautiful tree from J.R.R. Tolkein's Middle Earth. "Reflections of other worlds and thoughts on fantasy" was the description I once tagged to the title, but I have grown beyond that. But I still like elves and trees.
When I created this blog on the first day of 2011, I was inexperienced, and did not have a goal or function for this endeavor beyond socializing with two quirky, creative Bloggers. (Shout out to my Dear Blogging Friends)
A quick breeze through the blog archives will give an idea of what the blog was, but the post "Tidbits from Ireland" is what I believe to be a turning point. I hope to publish more posts like this one, posts about other places, and pictures to go along with it. My dream is that the Mallorn Tree is a precursor to a travel blog that I plan to begin with my significant other and prospective co-partaker in adventures around the world. (Shout out to Jere)
This past year I have considered discontinuing the Mallorn Tree. College life and becoming an adult has a way with upsetting the orbit of priorities. Rather, I am continuing this blog because it is a journal, I enjoy blogging, and there really is no need for me to start a new one. (I tried that once, and let's just say two sloppy posts was enough to send me back to the Mallorn Tree.)
We'll see how she grows from here.
