Our homeschool group met at the gym today, and we played basketball: girls versus boys. I'm not a very sportsish girl, but I wasn't going to sit out. So I dove in wholeheartedly, and scored my team 6 points. Boo-ya. Despite the fact that my body is totally worn out and I somehow bruised my pinkie finger (which is really beginning to hurt now) and we girls were soundly beaten, I had an awesome time.
I have finished reading Dracula and I am now about 70 pages into The Three Musketeers. I decided to read it upon Kellie's recommendation, and I am very much enjoying it! Makes me even more excited about the movie. Which reminds me, I take the ACT again tomorrow, and then while we're out and about, the plan is we'll "go to the cinema, yah," to see The Three Musketeers. :D Logan Lerman, here I come!
I am also planning a novel. So far I have a summary paragraph and two character sketches, the main character, a girl, and then a prince. I am having difficulty naming them, as the setting is fantasy medeivalish, and I want the names to sparkle without being outlandish and hard to pronounce. I shall update when I make significant progress.
And finallyyyyy.....I HAVE MY OWN ROOM AT LAST!!! I moved into it Monday, so I'm still organizing and decorating(last night I hung "Starry Night" and my Dawn Treader painting). I'll post some pictures soon.
Weyel, it is here that I shall close; must rest up for tomorrow morning.
<DBF OUT>
Lion's Mane! You have more courage than me haha. Congrats on your 6 points as well! I shall pray for your pinkie forthwith. (:
ReplyDeleteThe Three Musketeers is an amazing book! I read it for school last year and enjoyed it immensely. You absolutely HAVE to post a review of the film after you see it! Though I'm sure that even if it doesn't quite make the mark, all the eye-candy will make up for anything lost. (;
Ohh, I can't wait to hear more about your novel! :D Are you going to do National Novel Writing Month? It's loads of fun. Do keep us posted as your story line comes along!
CONGRATS on your new independent bunking quarters! :D I'm sure it's fantastic, what with your beautiful art hanging up in it. Isn't it a blast to decorate your own space? (:
Thank you, thank you.
ReplyDeleteLast night I was so tired, it having been a long day with the test and shopping for room decor, but I stayed up till a quarter after twelve watching Logan Lerman stuff on youtube (after seeing the movie, I was really in the mood for it lol) and reading The Three Musketeers. It's hard to put down! And I shall soon post a review of the movie.
I'm think I'm going to try to do the National Novel challenge; I'll be sandwiching it between rehearsals and reading Inheritance (which comes out the 8th!!!!) and school. But I'm pushing myself anyway, since I have a fellow writer ;)
Haha, sounds like you had a good night! (;
ReplyDelete*happy dance* Awesome!! I'll have to post the link to my page on the website when I post ye olde Blunderkinds in a little while. It'll be so great to have a writing buddy this year!
Sooo sorry I haven't posted a comment sooner :( my computer is in a bad mood lately, but I figured it out.
ReplyDeleteI applaud your basketball skill, being as tall as I am it seems I have no coordination when it comes to that sport. Soccer is more my thing.
How was Dracula? Do you think I would like it? And I'm super glad you are enjoying the Three Musketeers. I've been slacking and am only on about page 400 now, but it's coming along greatly. I love scenes with Constance and d'Artagnan and between Buckingham and the Queen. It's a great book.
Good luck on the writing contest. I'm a bit to busy for it so I'll have to sit it out this year, school is rough, lots of work. Tell me how the movie is. :) OH! I forgot, *air kiss to your pinky haha, may it feel better. XD And lasty, congrats on the new room! I remeber how happy I was when I got my own, now you can decorate all you want and not worry about upsetting anyone else. Have fun!
