I got my braces off today! *hallelujah chorus* No more rubber bands or stringing tedious floss, no more constant fretting about half-chewed food littering my smile. And I came home with a retainer and a bag of starbursts, skittles, bubblegum, and...Jolly Ranchers! Yes, the latter ack-chellay came from the orthodontist, as a reward for taking such good care of my braced teeth, lol. To get my retainer, however, they had to get impressions of the upper and lower parts of my mouth, which entailed sticking a piece of metal filled with a minty goo way back into my mouth to the point that I almost gagged. Instead of just twice, they had to do it 5 times, because for some reason the impressions weren't very impressive.
But anyway, I also went shopping at Kohl's and T.J. Max and got a cute summer skirt and shirt. It's always fun to get new clothes. Then we had to hurry home so we could go to the Easter play we were to act in at a neighboring church. Me and my youngest sister had the main speaking parts, and then all three of us sang "What About Today" at the end. It went extremely well. I mixed up none of my lines, and didn't hit but a few sour notes on the piano. I had been feeling faint before the play started, so I prayed extra hard for His help, and He gave it abundantly. :)
Well, I must go to sleep now, before this Jolly Rancher hops straight into my mouth and makes me have to go brush my braceless teeth again.
<3 DBF Out! <3
Oh joy! I remember when I got my braces off. I went straight to the nachos. :) That's so cool that you and your sisters perform together. I play piano, and my sister sings well, but we've never been on stage together. At home we'll sit down and I'll play some Taylor Swift songs while she sings, and we used to perform for my parents but that it. :) And Kohl's is my favorite store. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm about to bust to get some peanut m & ms!
ReplyDeleteDo you take piano lessons? I don't, but I did take guitar lessons.
I love Kohl's too; they've got some really pretty strappy floral shirts right now that look kinda fairy-ish. Oh, and I almost bought a shirt on clearance: it was purple, and in sparkly letters it read "Dreaming makes everything awesome." I may be going back again tomorrow...
Congrats on the liberation of your teeth! :D Ohh, the Easter play sounds lovely. Easter is my favorite holiday (yes, I love it even more than Christmas!).
ReplyDeleteYay! Kohls! I think me, my little sister, and my mom are going there today to pick out Easter dresses cause they're having a big sale. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop. Ahh, the shirt you got sounds amazing! Is a picture post in order? (:
I did take lessons in 4th and 5th grade but stopped after that. All of the notes really confused me at that time. Now I have discovered my good ear, and once I hear it I can play it, and I remember it forever. It's pretty cool. I just taught myself how to play the Wine Red piano part (a girl on YouTube helped too :) Maybe when I'm better at it I'll post a video.
ReplyDeleteTo Queen Elizabeth: Keep practicing, I'd love to hear it!
ReplyDeleteTo the other Pevensie girl: I had to take back the one from T.J Max because my mom pointed out after we got home that the stitching was coming undone :( But I got this cool see-through gray tunic instead. :) I did not, however, get the purple dream shirt from Kohls. :( I hope you were able to find a lovely Easter dress.
My mom pointed out to me that "sheer" is a more fitting word than "see-through"for the shirt. And I have a tank to wear under it lol.
